As we approach Mother’s Day, we are invited into a deeper awareness of the sacred presence that nurtures, creates, and sustains all life—the Divine Feminine. In Unity teachings, God is not limited to gender, but is understood as the perfect balance of both masculine and feminine expressions. The Divine Feminine represents the qualities of love, compassion, intuition, receptivity, and the ever-present flow of life.
In The Bible, we are reminded of this nurturing aspect of God in Isaiah 66:13: “As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you.” This powerful image invites us to experience God not only as Creator, but as the gentle, loving presence that holds us, restores us, and calls us forward in grace.
Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore taught that the feminine aspect of being is tied to the faculty of love and the heart center—where divine ideas are received and brought into expression. When we consciously align with this energy, we open ourselves to greater peace, deeper connection, and a more compassionate way of living.
This Sunday, we celebrate not only the mothers in our lives, but the Divine Feminine within each of us. Whether expressed through nurturing care, creative inspiration, or quiet inner wisdom, this sacred power is always present, guiding us into wholeness.
