We are wrapping up the May theme of “Prosperity in the Flow.” In the Unity
Correspondence Lesson 3, the Fillmores described “prosperity” this way:
Prosperity is a rich state of mind. It is the enrichment man gains both inwardly and
outwardly through the right use of divine ideas. … If man is to become prosperous, he
must first become rich in his consciousness through right thought activity. This is done
by releasing divine ideas into the consciousness just as seeds are released or planted
in the soil.
I saw and felt the truth of this statement last week, while I was in Sacramento. Our niece
faced major surgery, and expected the worst outcome, based on medical scans and her
doctor’s worst-case scenarios. However, my sister and I kept checking “within” and had
a “knowing” that all would be fine. We held firm in our “knowing” despite the predictions
to the contrary.
When the doctors looked inside, the damage and repair work was minimal, and our
niece would have a perfect outcome. Were the scans wrong? Were the doctors
incorrect in their assessment? I cannot answer that. I just know that we claimed the
divine idea of perfect health and perfect outcomes for her, despite appearances to the
contrary.
Prosperity isn’t about things or money. It’s as the Fillmores instructed. Prosperity is a
rich state of mind – rich in the possibility that life will turn out right. That health and
wholeness is our birthright. That right guidance is ours, and available at all times. We
just need to turn our thoughts to “right activity.” As Unity’s third Principle states, “We
create our experiences by the quality of our thoughts, feelings and beliefs.”
Join us this Sunday, either in-person or on Zoom, as we consider claiming what we DO
want from life, rather than expecting the worst. By choosing more affirmative words with
passion, like “What if it all turns out great?”, we might just create a little “magic” in our
lives! “If you can conceive it, and believe it, you CAN achieve it!”
Blessing you abundantly,
Rev. Eileen
